List of Dinosaurs

Rhizodus

Rhizodus was the largest freshwater fish that ever lived. It roamed the planet in the entirety of the Carboniferous period and was probably the apex predator of the freshwater ecosystems. It was almost 25 feet long and had fangs that were close to 9 inches in length. It usually ripped apart its prey rather than swallow it whole. It has been proposed that Rhizodus could lunge out of water like a crocodile to capture terrestrial prey.

In Game

Rhizodus is an AI controlled boss creature that lurks around the Grand River and Carnian Swamps. It does very high damage as well as the Bleed side effect. It is extremely aggressive and will not hesitate to attack any creature in the water.

Anthracosaurus

One of the most ancient predators found in Pangaea, Anthracosaurus existed in the Carboniferous era. It was a mostly aquatic predator that resembled an eel with limbs.

Paleo Chronicles

Anthracosaurus was a large predator for its time, measuring 10 feet in length with a 1.4-foot-long skull. Its jaws were packed with large teeth that would have made it capable of taking on prey larger than fish. It belongs to an order of stem tetrapods called Embolomeri. It was probably a very fast swimmer that used undulating eel like movements while swimming.

In Game Attributes

The fastest swimmer in the game, Anthracosaurus is extremely aggressive in nature which compensates for its mediocre health and slow speed on land. It can do really high damage and can also inflict bleed which it can use to take down small terrestrial prey. They can inhabit underwater caves and have a large oxygen meter as well. However, it can still be killed easily by anything larger than itself due to its low health and sluggish nature on land.

Preferred Biomes

  • Carnian Swamps
  • Grand River
  • Hushed Forests

Prionosuchus

The largest amphibian that ever roamed the planet, Prionosuchus lived in the Permian era. Shaped like a crocodile with long narrow jaws, it is thought to be an ambush hunter like modern crocodilians.

Paleo Chronicles

Prionosuchus was gigantic with a length of 28 – 33 feet and weighing up to 2 tons. It had more than 60 razor sharp teeth in its jaws and likely preyed on anything in its domain. It was an ambush hunter due its small limbs that would have made it slow on land.

In Game Attributes

Prionosuchus is one the largest predators that stalks the water ways in Pangaea. It has a large amount of health and decent damage. It is a very fast swimmer but it is slow on land. It can only nest in water and is vulnerable to predation in its juvenile stages.

Preferred Biomes

  • Carnian Swamps
  • Grand River

Sordes

Sordes is a very small Pterosaur that lived in the late Jurassic period. They are very important in Paleontology as they were the first Pterosaurs to show evidence of a fur like outer layer on their body.

Paleo Chronicles

Sordes was very small with a wingspan of 2 feet and a length of about 4 feet. They are thought to have eaten both fish and small amphibians with their jaws being designed for crushing and chewing. They had a short neck and a long tail that was over half its body length.

In Game Attributes

Sordes is the fastest flyer in the game and has higher stamina than the Pteranodon. They can only prey on fish and they have low health and damage. However due to their size it is quite easy for them to hide and evade capture.

Preferred Biomes

  • Carnian Swamps
  • Grand River
  • Hushed Forests

Pteranodon

Pteranodons are a species of Pterosaurs from the late Cretaceous period. They are probably the most well-known and researched species within their family with more than 1200 specimens unearthed over the years.

Paleo Chronicles

They were some of the largest flying animals ever discovered with a body length of 6 feet and a wingspan of 23 – 25 feet. They mainly hunted fish and are thought to have been able to immerse its head and neck underwater to snatch unsuspecting prey. They had a characteristic crest that many blood vessels, mainly in males, that were likely used in courting. They also flew in a pattern similar to modern Albatrosses which was mainly comprised of gliding and soaring with occasional bursts of rapid flapping.

In Game Attributes

Pteranodons are the largest flyers in Pangaea and they mainly prey on fish, Sordes and juveniles of lower tier dinosaurs. They can glide along the surface of water and snatch fish from the surface with ease. They do very little damage and has very low health so they should avoid combat with anything stronger than itself. They can nest on top of large trees and rock formations to avoid predation.

Preferred Biomes

  • Anywhere on the map

Tatisaurus

Tatisaurus is an early ornithischian dinosaur from the early Jurassic period. It was about 4 feet long and weighed around 30 kilograms. Not much is known about the species as it is known from just a few bone fragments.

In Game

Tatisaurus is found in large herds throughout Pangaea. It is very fast and will flee at the slightest signs of trouble. They are very commonly found in the Carnian swamps and Grand River.

Texacephale

Texacephale is a very small pachycephalosaurid from the late Cretaceous period. It would have been about 6.6 feet long and weighed around 45 kilograms.

In Game

Texacephale are often found in heavily vegetated areas in herds. They will fight back against predators and will charge at threats. They will only attack juveniles and sub adults of smaller carnivores and will flee from anything larger.

Xuanhuaceratops

One of the earliest ceratopsians, Xuanhuaceratops lived in the Jurassic period. It was very small, measuring 3 feet long and 6 kilograms in weight.

In Game

Xuanhuaceratops is often found in small to medium sized herds and it can easily be killed by any creature. It does not provide a lot of food by itself and it is quite fast as well. It is extremely sensitive to its surroundings and is very skittish in nature.

Supersaurus

Supersaurus was a large sauropod that existed in the late Jurassic period. One of the largest dinosaurs of all time, Supersaurus was 110 – 125 feet long and weighed an estimated 40 tons. It had a very long tail that it probably used to fend off potential predators, although considering its size an adult Supersaurus would have been too powerful to be preyed on.

In Game

Supersaurus is the largest and most powerful creature in Pangaea. One of the three boss creatures in the game, Supersaurus is different from other bosses in that it will not actively hunt other players but it is extremely territorial and will not tolerate any other creatures in its domain. It does insane amounts of damage and can kill most creatures in the game in one strike. However, its attack speed is very slow and it is quite sluggish in its movements. With careful planning and coordination, Supersaurus can be taken down by groups of carnivores and once down it will provide food for days.

Thescelosaurus

Thescelosaurus is a small ornithopod from the Cretaceous period. It was one of the last dinosaurs to walk the planet before the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event.

Paleo Chronicles

Thescelosaurus was 8 – 13 feet long and weighed 200 – 300 kilograms. It had a slender, light body with sturdy hind limbs and small wide arms. It was probably a herbivore but it could have potentially feasted on small animals as well. It is considered is to a fast and agile creature that would have preferred to live along streams and rivers.

In Game Attributes

Thescelosaurus is very fast and easy to hide. It can inhabit small caves due to its slender build and it is not affected by the swamp’s speed debuff as well. It has low health and damage so they should avoid altercations with predators at all cost.

Preferred Biomes

  • Hushed Forests
  • Ancient Woods
  • Grand River
  • Carnian Swamps
